Psylaris secures new investment to expand digital mental health solutions across Europe

Maastricht, October 22, 2025.

Psylaris, a Dutch digital health company pioneering Virtual Reality-based therapies for mental health care, has raised new funding from both existing and new investors, including continued backing from LIOF, INZET, and CbusineZ, and the addition of Brightlands Venture Partners (BVP).

The investment will enable Psylaris to expand its activities across Western Europe, accelerate the development of its next generation of evidence-based VR therapies, and strengthen collaborations with mental health institutions.

“We are excited to support Psylaris in this next phase of growth,” said Pierpaolo Padula, Investment Manager at Brightlands Venture Partners. “Mental health care is under enormous strain, with long waiting lists and limited availability of therapists. Psylaris is a great example of how digital solutions can make healthcare systems more resilient – in this case by making therapy more scalable and accessible without compromising clinical rigor. We believe the company is uniquely positioned to scale its solutions across Europe, and we are proud to join existing investors in enabling this ambition.”

Mike Verhiel, CEO and co-founder of Psylaris, added: “With this new investment, we have both the capital and the expertise to advance our mission: giving everyone access to effective, innovative mental health care. Our focus remains on clinically validated, autonomous VR treatments that empower patients and help reduce pressure on healthcare systems.”

Founded in Maastricht, Psylaris develops Virtual Reality solutions that enhance evidence-based therapies such as EMDR, exposure therapy, relaxation, and cognitive behavioral training. The company’s software supports mental health professionals in delivering more efficient and effective treatments, helping to shorten waiting lists and expand access to care.
